Made-to-Measure & Bespoke Ladies’ Wear

Replicating your Favourites

Why commission a bespoke garment?

Some believe it is a way to treat yourself to something very special and individual, others might find it very difficult to buy clothes off the peg.  It might be a special occasion, like an important birthday, or a wedding or some inspiration from a magazine.  It might be an already loved garment, which is past its best, lost its fit or is slowly falling to pieces – one you would like to have remade. Whatever the reason, we are here to support you in the process.

What is so special about made to measure?

A made to measure garment is the true luxury of having a hand-made garment made especially for you. This garment holds your personal measurements and it fits you like a glove.

You will be the driving force in this process and part of the creative journey – choosing your style, your fabric and the finish of your garment and we are here to advise and support you at every point of this creative journey.

We tailor

Informal and formal women’s dresses, skirt, blouses, evening dresses, bridal wear, coats, jackets, shirts, any bespoke garments.  The only garments we do not make are formal menswear and suits, although we can recommend people who can do this.

Charges for Made-to-Measure: Depending on the type of dress, the style, the complexity of the construction and the fabric you choose, charges vary quite significantly. We can give you some idea of charges if you are happy to send us a photograph of the type of garment you have in mind. The next step will be to book your initial consultation with our made-to-measure team in which you will discuss your garment.  The appointment is free of charge. A provided estimate is for you to decide to go ahead with your very own made to measure/bespoke project. All our charges are based on time at a rate of £60+VAT per hour for any tailoring and fitting services. This also applies to made-to-measure and bespoke services as well. Please do get in touch to find out more by submitting the form below.

The Steps of Making a Bespoke Garment

  • Initial client consultation
  • Deciding style and choosing the fabric
  • Making the garment pattern
  • Making your toile – your garment in calico or a similar weight fabric
  • Toile fitting – adjustments of the toile and pattern
  • Cutting the fabric and preparation for a tack fitting
  • Tack fittings – your garment will be sewn together with large stitches by hand or machine – you might have seen this before
  • Sometimes we need additional fittings to discuss more details and final touches to your garment
  • Garment ready to wear and enjoy
